Hyonja Lee Abrons

I see my most important involvement in philanthropy as a volunteer and board member of those charities that are most meaningful to me. These have included the Korea Society, the New York City Opera and Korean Community Services, among several others. Because we feel so strongly about working on behalf of society, a few friends and I organized the Women's Goodwill Circle. We meet every now and then for lunch to have fun and to talk about Korean American issues and worthy nonprofits. Our members come from all over the city and suburbs and we raise money among ourselves and our friends, which we contribute to a nonprofit serving the Korean American community. The point is not how much we give, but setting an example of how we should help each other and a good cause. We feel we should be role models for other younger Korean Americans.
